At the Everything Wendy Group, Challenge #34 is Humor. I've been trying to get back into the swing of things slowly, so this is my first contribution in forever. (I see today, they are now on #35....so I came close, lol)

The Queen is all decked out in a top hat....I did that by turning 1 copy of the crown upside down. She's very embarrassed by what she told me, but as her BFF, I thought I'd share her 1 minute of fame!

I am looking forward to playing the next round. hugz.....

Rosette - Bloggers Challenge

I remember....one of the first kitchen type tools I bought was a Rosette Maker, anyone else out there ever have/had one of those? That was before we worried about fried foods and saturated fats, lol! Used to make those for special occasions....Today, this rosette is made for the "Alter It" challenge over at Lisa's Blogger Challenge.

Here is the candle I bought for a friend all decked out for Valentine's Day.

Texture It - London Style - Bloggers Challenge

The theme this week at Lisa's Bloggers Challenge is "texturize it". Altho it took me a few days to finish it, I'm really happy with my framed art. I used 2 of the Artistic Outpost London sets....London Underground and Loverly London.

This is a 5x5 frame, gold metal is run thru the Big Shot using a Ten Seconds Studio Plate and then sanded. There is a 2x2 raised block under the image, covered with a piece from an old book; then I stamped on a piece of acrylic.

A Little Gelli Art

One of my Christmas gifts to me was this fabulous new tool (if that is the correct word for FUN) called the Gelli Art Plate. I played with it a bit when I first got it, but not liking my results I purchased a soft brayer and printed on cheap water color paper this time.....and my results were just fabby!

This was my first sheet, and I had left some paint on my block from a previous trial....then stamped on it with large stamps.

After printing the first sheet I applied more paints of various colors without cleaning the plate and then stamped it and used bubble wrap for texture.

For print # 3, I added yellow, pink and blue. This time I used stencils and bubble wrap, pretty cool huh!

I made this card using a piece of the blue and a Nestie for the water. The image is water colored using pencils.

I sent Lisa a few scraps just to intrigue her, and she amazed me with what she could do with 3, 1.4" scraps. You must go see this!

Things with Wings - Bloggers Challenge

I was so excited when I saw Lisa's BC was "wings" this week, and immediately knew what stamp I wanted to use. But then I watched the Ranger video dipping in stickles.....and got more excited, if you can imagine that!! My image is from Lost Coast Designs, and I thought this pretty mermaid was perfect for the challenge. Then thinking about the stickles....I took out a large countertop sample from my stash, you know the kind that your local home improvement stores has laying around...asking to be taken home! lol I covered it with white crackle paint, when dry...I scribbled the beautiful Waterfall Stickles on top, and moved the stuff over with a piece of chipboard until it was fully covered. While it was drying, I stamped and embossed the mermaid and colored with w/c pencils and stickles. I thought she needed some bubbles in the background so you all could see she was swimming...and I thought Stazon (but will it really stamp on the cracked stickles?).....yep, it sure did! I luv the effect. While I was at it, on the bottom, if you look close, you can see an orange sea fan, and some water plants. The fact that the ink stayed...duh, Stazon....still amazes me. I even added some Rock Candy stickles to some of the bubbles.....I really got stickleized on this project!

I even took a closeup so you can see all the texture on this.........

I think you can tell I had a lot of fun with this piece and my new found muse!

The Circus is in Town!

Yes, you read correctly..........the CIRCUS is here! Just knowing that leaves such a warm fuzzy feeling of wonderful memories. My Mom took us several times and it was such a really exciting thing......the tent, clowns, animals, so much to look at, and everything was happening at once.

My card features the collage from Vintage Circus from Artistic Outpost. The main image was done with water color pencils, then I did the Cracked Glass technique over it. (You may have to look really hard, as it doesn't show well on the orange! lol) The rest of the piece was done with distress inks, pencils and markers. Sure put a smile on my face today. hugz,

ELVIS Lives.....Blogger Challenge.....Colors

Whether you "love me tender" or you're "all shook up".....Elvis lives on! The color challenge today, at Lisa's BC, was not my choice of colors, but I did manage to work it in with my choice of stamp in honor of Elvis' birthday.

So let's celebrate a bit early in honor of the King of rock n' roll! Here is the challenge we had to work with

It's Blogger Challenge Friday....and I'm so happy to be finally playing again! The theme this week is Celebrations, so Happy New Year everyone!

This was a fun project! Santa brought me a Gelli Arts Plate for Christmas, and this was my first try at playing with it....talk about fun! Check them out! The bg is made of green and pink paints. Trying to start out the new year on a positive stamping foot and get to play and post more. Hugs to all for a Happy & Healthy 2012.

It's been another forever since I posted....time goes by so quickly...thanks for stoppin' by!

I thought I'd try to get back in the swing of things with the Our Daily Bread Scrapbook challenge. I luv how it came out! These photos were taken in 1998, and if you follow Lisa's blog, you have seen her Christmas photo this year.....yup, time flies!

I followed the Our Daily Bread Sketch Challenge, just flipped it a bit and used a stamp from the Worship the Lord set. I did add some gold paint to the red bg paper, using a sea sponge. Also am playing in the ODBDSLC90 anything goes challenge.

I hope I can continue to post in a more frequent manner.....hugz, Gerrie

Tim's Tags - Day 5 - # 5 is Alive!

Whew! Finally getting to post this one. I've done this tech before on fragments, never got it to work.....so today, I tried again. I used only 1 layer of alcohol ink, and for me, I think that is the secret here in hot and humid south Florida. (84 today!) Some of the ink did come off the green charm, and the color was not dark enuf, but.....you got the idea. I did use the same holly stamp on both fragments/charms.

I diecut the deer on printed paper.....off to put my leg up again, hugz.....

Tim's Tags - Day 4 - Ornament

Can you believe it.........healing in the craft room! This is just so wonderful, another day, another tag! (Sure wish I could have gotten in earlier, but it wasn't meant to be I guess). I will say however, that there were so many drying steps on this tag, I was in and out of my room many times. I really don't like to fiddle around this much with 1 thing, but for Tim.....well you know.........

Since I already did Frosty, I decided to use the ornament die, painted gold, crackled, and then used Tattered Twig di.....I think it looks better without the red bg, but oh well....it is what it is. On the bg, I used spun sugar and shabby shutters distress stain......green was ok, but the sugar was too light, so I added some brick to the sugar on my craft sheet and stamped into it, much better effect. The swirlie was done in picket fence stain, but didn't show up at all, so again, I turned to the brick. I stamped the snowflakes with the berry di.........I'm really not a tulle gal (ruffles either) but followed the Timster. I hope tomorrow is easier.....lol!

Tim Tag #3 - Pinecones

Here we go.....back in the studio for Day 3. I didn't have matching stamps and folders, really wish I did.....I choose to use the Pine cone stamp from one of Tim's sets. I'm really happy with how it turned out. This tech was a lot of fun using this stamp. The light bulb charm is aluminum and I colored it with alcohol inks, isn't it just perfect! I improvised my greenery with a few punches and stickles. I love the twine curling trick, you must try it!

Tim's Tag - Day 2 - Canvas Frosty

See below if you care to catch up on my absence/surgery.

It's Day 2, and I got a tag done! I am so excited. It took me hours.....but I did get into my craft room for only the 3rd time since surgery, whoo hoo Gerrie! More than anything else, I am so happy that I was able to sit and play! What a great feeling.

Here comes Frosty............for the most part I followed Tim's tag. Since I only had white Sticky Back Canvas, I decided to go with the snowman. The most fun was distressing him with that tool that Tim used.....irl it is really shabby, and I do like the look. I do hope to get tag #1 done over the weekend....

I want to say thanks again to all of you that wished me well , it sure means a lot! It's 6 weeks today, and the hardest thing has been sitting for any length of time.......but today...........I was able to sit for the longest since surgery, so I was up and down but did accomplish something. Funny, but for most of the time I could not even walk in and visit my favorite things....no stamps, no paper, no machines....no ink! Even DH today said he was happy to see me in my room! Things aren't perfect yet, it takes a lot of work and time to heal they say. Hope this good feeling stays around now................hugz

French Flight

I'm happy to announce a new release from Artistic Outpost..................FRENCH FLIGHT. Just close your eyes and get taken to places where others only wish they could see.

This new stamp collection pays homage to the wonderful adventurers of the late 1700's. Fun and quirky with a little bit of steampunk thrown in for good measure, French Flight is a pure creative delight. This collection is available in both unmounted rubber sheets or pre-mounted on EZMount cling foam and hand trimmed on a clear cling storage card!

Looks like Mr. Scrooge has taken off with the children's gifts! This is by far, my fav from this set.......sending a little holiday cheer.

World travel is possible, just sit back and relax! A very CAS card using the dirigible image. After stamping in Versafine black, I too the corner of my silver ink pad and pulled it across the paper for the metal affect.

Update on my surgery.....everything is coming along very s-l-o-w-l-y! I can't really sit and stamp yet, as my leg swells up quickly and I have to move around alot. The staples are out, everything is looking good....the therapy is exhausting, I don't even use a cane in the house! (surgery was 10/20), so that is just great. It's just going to take time and patience. Thanks to all of you that sent cards and good wishes.

Do You Give A Hootie?

The current challenge at the Stampotique Challenge Blog is a tag. I just had to use this tree and owl from Stampotique. I colored the stamps with colored pencils, then added some of the new distress Gathered Twigs. The background was made with the other fall new distress inks, and the Timster is right, they go great together. I stamped the moon using a bottle cap, and made the spider web in it using one of the new Stampotique wings......worked out like perfect! I finished off the bottom using Martha's fringe scissors. Trying to keep my mind busy.....hugz...

OK, so some things just don't work out sometimes.....linky is already closed, just not meant to be, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa at least I get to post it on my blog..........someday I'll be quick, ya' right, like that will ever happen! lol....xxoo

Fall Blooms

The saga continues......My surgery never happened on Friday due to a tooth abscess.......to say I had a very stressful week, well....I think you understand. Doctors office just called to say they will take me this Friday.....I'll be happy to go already (I think!).

This card has been done, sitting on my desk for days, just didn't have the initiative to post it, sorry for being late again! The Blogger Challenge this week is Fall Blooms. I used a stamp from a set by Cloud 9 Design that I picked up at HL. I used the pencil over marker tech from the TJNL to color my image.

I'll be in the hospital for 3/4 days and I'll be in touch when I can. hugs..............

Blogger Challenge - Halloween Book

It's another BC....and as usual I'm a little late in posting....oh dear, what are we going to do with me, lol. This week, Lisa has the Bloggers Challenge players using cardboard. I made this cute little BIA book using all Halloween papers and just need to decorate the pages with my fav stamped images.

Light of the World

Wow, 2 SB pages in a row, I'm on a roll! This page is for the Our Daily Bread SB Challenge, using vellum. I used images from ODBD Light of the World stamp set. I had this piece of vellum in my stash, saved from a piece of junk mail and knew just what I wanted to do with it....and was amazed it turned out. It's printed with a seascape....can you see the sailboat? I added some color to the backside of the velum to make the waves and clouds more prominent. The bottom wave was cut from a different blue piece. The saying is embossed, and I colored the lighthouse with colored pencils. Thanks for stopping by......

My First Cricut Scrapbook Page-Skool Dayz

Some of you may know that I recently caved and bought a Cricut. I'm not a scrapper, but plan on scrapping the box of old photos I got from my Mom's 10 years ago....oh how I wish I would have asked her about all these people....I do know some, and need to get them noted, before I loose it all! lol

Being technically challenged, I'm taking a class at My Creative Classroom on learning all the functions of my Expression. I've taken several classes at MCC and really can say that I enjoy working at home, at my own pace and learning from the best.

They have posted a challenge from Bitten By The Bug 2 using the word "classroom" created with the Cricut. While looking thru Mom's photos last month I came across a school photo and thought how perfect and used it.

Those of you that know me, know my photos aren't the best, believe me, irl "classroom" is not that crooked! lol.....Anyway, there I am with the apple on my head.
I can't wait to feel more comfy with the Cricut, it will be a lot of fun. hugz..

Bloggers Challenge Travels to Stampotique-ville

This week over at Lisa's Blogger Challenge, the theme is Travel. I'm actually posting on time for a change and combining the BC with the Stampotique Designers Challenge which is Black and White and a touch of color.

I did a fast and simple fun card using an old TJNL tech, film strip.

sound the horns, ring the bells.........today is the Fall Equinox, and for those of you who've known me for a while, it's egg standing day!!!! Yep, that's right, when the earth and the sun reach a certain place, me and my egg are in balance and I have a photo for you. Now hurry run....get your eggs out and see if you can stand them up.....for the non believers out there, and you know who you are........it is a NEW photo, and I can't do photoshop! lol

Texture Wow!!

Today I am sharing one of the classes I am teaching this month at Michael's Store in Cape Coral, FL. If you're anywhere close by, come on down!!!!! This class is being held next Wednesday, September 14th, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. We are having a Paper Craft Open House this Saturday, Sept. 10th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where I'll be demoing several tech's and teaching a few make & takes. Classes will be half price if you sign up and pay during the Open House!

The Queen really enjoyed this fun project, can you tell! Textures, inks, paints and inky fingers are all in the fun of this 12 x 12 canvas.

Stampotique Designer Challenge

Our challenge this time around at Stampotique is to make a bookmark. I use bookmarks all the time, especially when I lend my books out......... so I thought this one might give someone a chuckle. (I always tell them the bookmark is theirs to keep, but kindly return the book, the hint is, don't dog ear my pages!) It always works!

Of course the black cs is not part of the bookmark, but it sure shows off those colors! That's one of Tim's dies that I thought I could live without, but really love it! hugz............

On my textured, sanded and sprayed bg, I used one of the many sayings included in the new Typography set, along with a piece from the Apothecary. You'll love the sayings in this new set, it too mixes so well with all the wonderful Artistic Outpost images.

Lady In Blue Bloggers Challenge

It felt so good to actually make a card yesterday! Sorry I have been ignoring my blog, but you know how life sometimes gets in the way, and before you know it, weeks flew by you. I hope I can keep my art going.

This week, the Bloggers Challenge over at Lisa's is a sketch. I'm not a sketch gal, but did fall in love with this one, and hope you enjoy it.

I love when what you visualize becomes the final outcome. The stamp is from Artistic Outpost, the Flapper Fashion plate. I water colored her with ink pads. The bottom blue piece is stamped lightly and pleated with my long neglected crimper, I couldn't believe I found it in the jungle! The rose is cut from a die, then rolled, they turn out so pretty. I recently broke down and bought a Cricut, and the black die is from one of the new frame cart's, don't ya' just love it!

Been Takin' Some One Line Classes...

If you wonder where I've been....I'm taking some online classes over at MyCreativeClassroom.com. Last week I finished up a class using metal and really learned a lot. The class really helped me learn the tools and techs to use the metal in my work. This week I'm working on BindItAll 101. I've had a BIA since they came out but never felt secure using the machine. I know I'll come out of this class feeling good about what I've learned.

Here is my first lesson, nothing fancy, but I'm running a couple of weeks ehind and need to get 'er done!

Here are a couple of the projects I did in the Metal Class, what fun!

Gotta' get busy and catch up in the BIA class, so I can start another class I signed up for also...............I am a prisoner in my love for art! lol hugz....

Frosty and the Blogger Challenge

Presenting the "real" Frosty the Snowman.....is he just the cutest image or what!! Artistic Outpost did a really fine job of creating Frosty in day 3 of my AO newest releases. Lisa's Blogger Challenge this week is embossing, and I embossed some snowflakes into a piece of TSS metal. Frosty has some Rock Candy Stickles here and there and is painted, as well as the bg, with the Distress Stains.

Apothecary : Before the invention of the drive-thru Walgreens®, the apothecary was not just a dispenser of medicines, but also a mix-ologist of tonics, keeper of secrets, and giver of advice. Antique apothecary bottles are highly collectible in part due to the “mystery” of what could actually be in them. Our AO stylized bottle has a blank space that our “product” labels fit perfectly into…or hand write your prescription on our vintage Rx pad.

Halloween Treats : Growing up, our Halloween decorations were Technicolor large die cuts of pumpkins and kitty cats and witches on broomsticks. These stamps remind me of those “cardboard” cut-outs. How I wished we had saved them! Try mixing this set with our other Halloween collections as well as Apothecary!

Frosty & Friends: I love the sweetness of vintage Christmas cards. The secular imagery was dreamy and cute! This collection features some of our favorite images from our own AO collection of vintage ephemera.

For the release today, I am sharing a couple of fun Halloween tags I made.

Summertime Hunk - Bloggers Challenge

I've got so much going right now...but I had to stop by and play in Lisa's Blogger Challenge, Summertime. It happens to be summertime about 50 weeks out of the year where I live, and I'm good with that. I'd like to find this guy on my Adirondack chair tho....wouldn't you!

I was looking for something fast and ez for this post, found this fabby hunk of a stamp to use (ahhhh summertime), dug thru my "bg's" drawer and pulled out this sheet of Spectrum Roll from the TJNL I had rolled it a long time ago and it was extremely dark in color.....I dry brushed some of Claudine's gesso, sprayed with water and it really lightened up, great results, minimal effort! I did add a little bit of color to the palms and the stamp. Sweet dreams ladies....

Flower Power for the Stampotique Challenge

This is what I created for the current Stampotique challenge, Flower Power. I used this adorable collage stamp, an added the splash on the sides, both Stampotique stamps. It's stamped on the Antiqued Glimmers bg, tech from the TJNL. I am thrilled with the outcome! I cut it using my new nestie die, and the new lace die. It's Blogger Challenge Sketch time this week, and I was truly baffled as to what to do with the sketch.......I put on my tin foil hat, and wha-la! it came to me clear as day...maybe I should say nite due to the theme. lol My man in the moon was cut out of the Flowers 3 nestie, and the wings, are from the leaves nesties. (That little spot on the nose, is a diamond!) I had fun with this, hope you like it and it gives you a little giggle! It will look great hanging on my wall! hugs.....

I think I came close to casing my BFF, Lisa's style here, don't you agree! Lisa is the gal that runs the Blogger Challenge and this is my entry for this weeks challenge, along with entering it over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, add some stiching.

The flower was sponged with Viva Decor stuff, the butterfly was a piece of paper I sprayed, ran thru an embossing folder added some inks and did the cuttlebug highlights tech from the TJNL on.

I think we all know these funny, funny men! Laurel and Hardy still make me LOL. When Stampsmith announced their friends and friendship challenge, I knew just what stamp to use.

I made the background using alcohol inks. This card is being entered in the Stampsmith challenge, Simon Says Stamp and Show a word, and Linda's Grungy Monday where we were watch Tim Holtz as he demonstrated Adirondack Alcohol Inks, then create our own alcohol ink piece!
WAIT DON'T GO YET....YA' JUST GOTTA' SEE WHAT ELSE I DID.....

Yep.........I really did it! I remember seeing Tim's heat gun alcohol inked many moons ago....have always wanted to do it, and that's the end of the story! lol Hope it gave you a good chuckle, DH really feels I have lost it completely.

The current challenge at Stampotique is to use your scraps. I choose this intelligent bird, Eclectus , and then starting going thru my scrap pile for things to use. I came across the pink paper and choose the rest of the scraps around it. Made me LOL, I hope you do too! I paper pieced the bird, as I didn't think I'd be any good at drawing in feathers!

I have a small parrot.....1 day I brought home a new white cage and he wouldn't go near it, I had to return it for a black one! true story.....hugz

I really had to contain myself to not use or do something weird today.....as I just love wings.....but I choose this beautiful stamp to create my card today.

To make the bg, I smooshed some dabber paint here and there and worked it with a baby wipe. She does have a little Distress Stickles on her wings.

First a thank you and an apology to everyone that has been so sweet and commented on the latest Artistic Outpost, London releases.....I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to comment back, trying hard to catch up....if I miss anyone, here is my whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'z.

We were down in the Florida Key's, which is as close to being out of this country that I can get,... we left early cuz it was so hot, sometimes there is no place like home. Anyhow, I wanted to share this adorable photo....they have extremely small deer there, and Sugar, she told me her name!, came right up to the car when I called her....her momma' was standing back just watchin'...

....and then we stopped at the No Name Pub, on Big Pine Key....all that stuff hanging is real money! We hadn't been there in about 12 years, nothing changed except the prices! lol

Today is Larry's birthday, Norm, our bird Teke and I all sang HB to you son, we miss you and love you..........

Springtime Love - Bloggers Challenge Pets

This is all Lisa's fault you know, cuz if you read her challenge for the BC last Friday.....she made me do it! lol True story tho....when we first moved here to SW Florida, almost 20 years ago, it was so desolate that we had gators swimming by all day...and at nite when you turned on a flashlight in the canal...all you saw were red gator eyes! I had names for some of these babies.....so I guess if would be safe to say they were like "pets"! ??? There was Cottonnose, and Stubby to name a few.....both of these gators were 10-12 footers and would swim over if I called them!

Graduation Time

On our way to our GD Katie's HS Grad yesterday, I saw this sign....Congrats Grad's....welcome to the real world! It was a large grad class but they went thru it quickly. Back from the Yellow Brick Road Trip

We've been doing the East Coast of Florida trip...State Campground to campground, centered around the beach of course....parked in dense trees with no TV, computer, very little radio, and almost no phone service........and had a wonderful trip!!! Talk about being in "Ozland"...the first 5 days were pretty stress full, but after that, it was FAB! I thought this card pretty much reflected how I felt, and had to share.

Sorry about the shadows...oops. You can see the fossilstone tech in the blue bg. Below, you can see some glimmer shine thru.

I made this for Lisa's Blogger Challenge which is shimmer this week. I thought I'd try the Fossilstone Tech from the TJNL and morphed it up by spraying the inks with Rangers Sunflower PP Mists....it came out beautiful. I'm sure you can visualize the shimmer if you put on your tin foil hats. The image is from Artistic Outpost, and the bricks are stenciled on.

I've missed all my Blogger friends and hope you'll forgive me for all the deleting I did when I got back, and not being able to visit your wonderful art. I still haven't rejoined any of my groups, but plan to soon.

We had a wonderful trip...the best part was camping at Anastasia Island, what a beautiful beach! My brother and sil came to stay with us a nite, and we got to visit with friends Dave & Patty at the camp site too!

Over at the Stampsmith Challenge blog, it's "The Female of the Species", and my lady is overlooking the world! I'm currently enrolled in a brayer on-line class, and was having a heck of a time blending the colors in correctly until I changed inks last evening. The ink has to stay wet enuf to blend, and I just couldn't get my ink to stay wet until I tried an old Ranger product, Antiquities. I am so happy I realized I had a refill to make my own stamp pad.

It's Grungy Monday over at Linda's blog.....posted on Sunday. Almost forgot to post my entry. If you haven't been over there yet, do take a look see and check it out, what fun. I see we have lots of players again anxious to try Lord Tim's tech of a different resist.

My stamp is from the Gatsby release at Artistic Outpost, luv this plate. Who can resist....oops...there is that word again....those handsome men. I made a stamp from my Sizzix die, Heart Wings from Tim's Alteration line. This was my first attempt at following this particular resist tech, and I'll have to say, it is the best for me.

It's a Sea Cow or Call it a Manatee

What a beautiful life!! If you look closely, you will see 1 of the 3 Manatee's that are right off my dock. They love fresh water, so that is what they are doing here, sucking in the fresh, cold water, can you believe that!!! The sun is so bright, I can't get a better photo, but if I do, I'll post it later. This one's name is Mildred, and then DH is Morrie and baby is Morgan Manatee.

This Manatee has to be at least 10 feet long and just guessing, a couple thousand pounds! What a way to start the season!

Welcome Spring.....or where I'm at, maybe Summer (it was 87 today), I think most of us are well ready for it's arrival. This week on Bloggers Challenge it's Spring Flowers, and I have such an exciting piece to share. It's not too often that I get really excited about a new stamp, but I just received this Iris set from my BFF for my Birthday, and oh my gosh, are these beautiful! Stamps and dies are from the new release at Heartfelt Creations.

My piece measure 8 x 5, and is suitable for hanging or a frame. It's for a great friend, I hope she likes it, it is really hard to give up the first piece you make, and luv! lol I made the bg paper from a piece of Basic Grey, and cut the vase from another sheet. A Little Birdie Told Me

.....to get outta' my slump and get busy cre8ting! It's been a long week, and it isn't over yet, yikes! I'm so busy, so tired, and have accomplished nothing all week, I hate when that happens. I finally have something done that I can post! yea me!! Spring starts this weekend, for many of you it's been a long winter. It's also the Spring Equinox, so take out those eggs and start standing them up, I'll post mine as soon as I do that. I used the beautiful Birds of a Feather plate from Artistic Outpost today, thinking of Spring and I even managed a little green today too. (things are looking up)

The Last CCC, What A Ride!

It was just like yesterday that I joined in at Linda's blog, to play along in the Compendium of Curiosities, and all good things must come to an end they say. What's neat about this 35 lessons, is not only what I have learned, but the friends I've met along the way! Thank you Linda, this was so much fun, and thanks also to Tim, for his sharing, caring and lessons.

This last lesson is about the "details", and I put them all in this last piece. The dress form is from one of Tim's newest releases, Haberdashery, and the wings are stamped with Reflections. I've stamped and opened buttonholes, stamped the zigzag stitches from Wendy's stamps, adding Enamel Accents here and there- part of a pattern piece, measuring tape, netting and doodads. Normally I'd say it's a bit much....but I just had to do it all for this last tag.

A little birdie told me that Linda has something new coming up, I'll be anxious to play along. Thanks for stopping by, somehow I just didn't feel like stamping this past week....hugz and more.....

I just couldn't let the weekend go by without something for Mardi Gras, and actually I have 2 pieces done for you, something like...."the same...but different"! I had this marvelous idea for the Wendy yahoo group challenge #4, but finished this tag before I realized that I forgot to do the challenge! lol, Yikes....

OK, so now what do I do?..........So I thought, let's just keep the theme and do the challenge part correctly, and change the tag a little. So now we have The Queen of the Mardi Gras along with the parade.

CCC meets Ink on My Fingers via Paris

This week at the Loverly Linda's CCC challenge, we are working with fragments, and what fun this has been. And my Dear Hel's has Paris on her mind....so I went to town creating today, just in time, I might add.

It was really fun cre8ting the fragment, and I will do it again and again. The Can Can Dancers were something that has never seen ink before, colored with markers and "stickelized". I'm glad now that I held on to it. It's another piece for my new magnetized board that hasn't gone up on the wall yet, I need to clear a path and get it hung.

Do you know that Mardi Gras is just 2 weeks away! Altho I've never been, I just luv Mardi Gras....all the hoopla', the fun, the parades, colors, beads and candy, and especially the Hurricane's! I've been to New Orleans several times, and let me tell you that those people don't need an excuse like Mardi Gras to party, it's a really fun place.

And speaking of fun.... we are excited today at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge! Have we got the ultimate challenge for you today! Our hostess this week, Monique, challenged our team to use a technique on their creation. And.... we decided to take it a step further. What better place to turn than Pat Huntoon of the Technique Junkie Newsletter! Stampotique is teaming up with the Technique Junkies team to create a card using the Faux Barnwood Technique. We want you to join us this week and you can use the Faux Barnwood Technique or any of the techniques Pat uses on her website.

Altho we have a little time before the festivities, my BFF has her spot saved on the parade route and she is decked out to the 9's in the Mardi Gras colors, waiting....waiting....waiting for the fun to begin. Isn't she just a hoot! I luv this line of stamps and can't wait to get more! I've colored the image with Spica Pens, gold paint and reinkers...using a watercolor brush. Don't you just luv the faux barnwood background....I've used black and green for my bg, covered with white...when dry, I brushed a little purple on the white. I luv how it cracked!!

Bloggers Challenge - Forgive Me

This week our challenge is Emboss It!.....I really had fun with this card. I used a piece of background paper I made in this post....and guess what...yep, I embossed it! lol, then I smeared on some white and gold brilliance ink and poured clear embossing powder on it, heat set it, and then ran it smooth again in my BS. I luv how the bg came out.

I've been wanting to use this fabby stamp I received from smARTworks and this bg was perfect. I stamped the little girl on a piece of Brayer Roll from my stash, a tech from the TJNL. The words were stamped on some scrap from the same piece. The bubbles were punched from another something I made in my stash drawer.

I recently had eye surgery, and the doctor and office staff were just so special that I sent off some gratitude today.

To know me is to love me! lol

Love Is All Around Us.....

Valentine's Day is almost here and love is in the air! I made this card for my DH, I know he'll just luv it. He's more the romantic than I am.

Blogger Challenge this week is themed love; Simon Says Stamp and Show some Embossing, the Artistic Stamper Creative Team is All things Love, and I combined all this together with the Compendium of Curiosities #31, rusted enamel. The embossing is on the words, and the red is the CCC, which is also a form of embossing. Wishing you all a wonderful VD! hugz.....

Way back in December, when we were all playing with Tim in the 12 days of Christmas, I posted on Arty-Jen's blog....all my tags as I got them finished, actually some time in Jan I believe. Waiting for Love

I remember well, standing at the edge of the dance floor in Grade School, during dance class, waiting and hoping some boy, any boy, would ask me to dance, and this card made those memories oh so real. Of course I wasn't quite that thin! lol, but well....maybe that cute! This week at Stampotique it's all about love, love is in the air, love is every where, and I hope you and your love have a wonderful day together. Orange and Turquoise Challenge and Newz

I'm so excited to share with you that this month I am the Guest Designer for Stampotique Stamps! I love the variety of stamp designers that share this site, so many different styles to choose from. They have adorable to zany...and everything in between.

Their current challenge is orange and turquoise, .....now how do I turn that into a little "love" I said, well....I found the most funnest way. I used my friend Smiles, colored him with watercolor pencils and popped him up on a background I made. His balloon is from a piece of paper from my stash, and decorated with part of this heart stamp.

Then I found a piece of paper to use as my bottom layer in my stash, and decided to decorate my "handmade" paper with white paint and a bottle cap to match. I think he luv's YOU!

My friend Dyan just posted on YouTube how she made some background papers she calls the Ghosting tech, and I just had to try it. This tech is only for the brave imo, as my hands are still inky, it took me hours, (I used a vinyl tablecloth and the entire Sunday newspaper to cover my kitchen table), and most important, I had a blast! My papers turned out just FAB, I luv them and you can see them next. Would I do it again, yeppers, fer sure!

and this is the last one I made, guess I finally got the hang of it, it's my fav...

Can you imagine all the possibilities you can have out of this one piece of cs! My kinda' fun! If you decide to make some of these, please let me see what you come up with.

My Partee' Dress - CCC # 29 meets Hels a day late.....

Fun! Fun! Funky Fun! That's what I had this morning showin' ya'll my new partee' dress, hope you like it, you can borrow it anytime!

This week over at Lovely Linda's blog, we have our Compendium of Curiosities challenge on weathered grunge. I took some liberties, I didn't want brown ink on top, so I used Victorian Velvet...and I used a piece of grunge that was already embossed, but had to emboss it anyway....good way to get rid of some stuff that's not being used. At Hels this week, her theme is buttons....whaaa, was buttons, seems Hel's now changes her Sunday challenge to Saturday's as she damn well pleases...hrmpf........well, it's her blog so she can do whatever, and cuz I luv her, I'm gona' just post anyway! lol

I had a really hard time getting this posted...so what else is new!....I took the photo long, and was able to flip it, but Blogger kept putting it sideways....only could happen to me. So, because of this, the details aren't the best, what it says is "To know is nothing, To imagine is everything". My imagination appears to be working full stream today. CR84FN12 meets Blogger Challenge

It's been a loooong day! I struggled with the colors for the CR84FN challenge, Pink, Lavender and Kraft all week, and here we are the last day, and I'm finally posting. Funny, these just are not colors that I use very often, so I guess a challenge is a challenge fer' sure. Here is my 5 hour card, lol!!!, and you are just going to have to believe me when I say the color behind the oval is lavender....as I couldn't get it to photograph well at all. Don't tell, but I even had to run out and buy a sheet of paper to play in this challenge! shhhhh...........

This card also works for this weeks Bloggers Challenge group, birthday cards.

The image was embossed and then colored using the pencil over marker tech and the wisped frames tech from the TJNL. The little butterflies were inked and sprayed with pearl.

A Bookmark for You..........

Today, my DH is lending out a book of mine to a friend at his favorite haunt, so I thought I'd whip up a quick bookmark for her to use. It's one of my favorite local authors, Randy Wayne White, and it's his first book in the Doc Ford series. I hate dog eared pages, so the bookmark was a big hint! Fast and easy, but very effective with the images from the new Artistic Outpost release, Think and Wonder, and my favorite color green (paint chip). Still having difficulty focusing, so easy is good, and next eye surgery is Tuesday! lol, we don't realize how much our sight means to us, until we start to loose some.

CCC meets Simon Says Stamp and Show

I had so much fun creating this I didn't want to stop! This week Linda's CCC challenge is colorful layered fragments and the Simon Says is polka dots. I haven't had much time to play this week, I had some minor eye surgery with an anesthesia allergy that really knocked me down. Still can't see well, so it's a kss day. (keep it simple stupid).

Twins Birthday - CR84FN11

CCC # 27, Hels and More

Over at Linda's blog this week, we have a masking challenge, which just happens to fall in line with several other challenges this week, so I'm listing them below. Hel's has "diamonds" as her challenge, so I managed to squeeze them all on 1 little tag.

I actually used 3 different sprays on my masking, pearl, red and a deeper red. Sorry the photo has such a glare, but between all the glitz from the sprays and the diamonds......and being tired, it's all she wrote!

I didn't like the manilla color of the Cupid showing thru, so I pinked it!

Darn cursor is in the middle now and I have no idea how to fix that....whaaaa, but we shall continue with this post to the end!
